Just a couple photos from a quick one-nighter back in April. I went prepared to do some night photography around the capital, but the weather was terrible, so I ended up visiting Kenny and Lori in Virginia instead, which was fun but all too brief.

iPhoneTracker reveals… extra-terrestrial excursions??!
I finally had a moment to more fully look into the scandal which broke this past week about the iPhone “secretly” storing your approximate location every few minutes for up to the past year in an easily accessible database file (see Andy Ihnatko’s explanation). According to John Gruber, it’s likely a cache removal bug that allows the data to persist for longer than its likely intended purpose.
I just downloaded the iPhoneTracker application and let it open my ‘consolidated.db’ file and, low-and-behold, it looks like my iPhone and I have taken some trips I don’t recall. Should I be worried?
Yellowstone/Montana gallery
In late March, I visited Big Sky, Montana for the Keystone Hematopoiesis Symposium. While there, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to spend some time photographing animals and landscapes in Yellowstone National Park. I had no control over when I’d be shooting, so the weather and lighting conditions were not ideal. That and an absolutely terrible guided trip into the park made for a less than stellar photo set from this visit. I’ll definitely have to visit the park again as soon as possible.

In February, we visited Waikiki on the island of Oahu, Hawaii for the American Society of Blood and Marrow Transplantation annual meeting. Due to the meeting, there wasn’t much time to dedicate to photography, but we did make it up to Diamond Head, the North Shore, and Pearl Harbor.
