Bookmarklet for Stanford Laneproxy users
NB: If you are not a member of the Stanford community or you don’t have a SUNET ID (or even know what one is), the following will be of no use to you.
Ever found yourself in this scenario?
You’re surfing around the web and come across a link to a scientific journal article you’d like to read. You casually follow the series of links until you finally realize that you can’t download the full article unless you go through the proxy server on Stanford’s medical library website.
No? Never done it. Oh, OK, well I have. Many more times than I’d like to discuss. Rather than always having to restart a series of navigations through the library’s site just to refind the article, I have come up with a better solution: a bookmarklet! (I love bookmarklets, BTW.)
So, as a service to the Stanford community, I’d like to share this bookmarklet I wrote which allows you to directly access the article you want through the Stanford proxy without having to navigate to another page.
How does it work? Drag this link to your bookmark bar, then click on it when you’re on a journal page with a link to an article you’d like to read in full. Log in with your SUNET ID, and voila, full access.

I owe you big for this one.
